Reading in Acts today touched me.<\/span><\/p>\n

I want to be like Stephen.\u00a0 His mind was fixed on Jesus no matter what was happening to him.\u00a0 I once saw a scene in a movie of a young woman being stoned, and it was horrific.\u00a0 I had to turn it off after just a few stones were thrown.\u00a0 I can\u2019t imagine what it would truly be like.\u00a0 But Stephen \u2014 being pummeled with rocks and still keeping his eyes on Jesus \u2014 that touches my heart.\u00a0 He even prayed for the people throwing the stones!\u00a0 To be so full of God that all he could see was God.<\/span><\/p>\n

It made me think of the dream I had recently where the whole point was to look past the storm and look for Jesus.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I want to be like Stephen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And I really like what Wendy said.\u00a0 It stirred my heart to think that the Sadducees who did not believe in the resurrection and did not want Jesus’ blood to be blamed on them, saw the signs that maybe they were wrong.\u00a0 Maybe this man was from God.\u00a0 It must have terrified them.\u00a0 But instead of humbling down and crying out, what did their hearts do?\u00a0 It really left me praying for a pure heart.\u00a0 Whew.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

51.O\u00a0y<\/em>ou stiff-necked men, and uncircumcised in heart and ears!\u00a0Y<\/em>ou always resist the holy Spirit! As\u00a0y<\/em>our fathers\u00a0did<\/em>,\u00a0y<\/em>ou\u00a0do<\/em>\u00a0also.<\/span><\/p>\n

52.Which of the prophets did\u00a0y<\/em>our fathers not persecute? They even killed those who foretold the coming of the righteous one, of whom\u00a0y<\/em>ou have now become betrayers and murderers \u2013<\/span><\/p>\n

53.y<\/em>ou who received the law by the disposition of angels, but have not kept it!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b654.\u00a0And when they heard these things, they were cut to their hearts and began gnashing their teeth at him.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

  1. But he, full of holy Spirit, looked intently into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    And I love what you said about Jesus standing up for Stephen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
