{"id":3473,"date":"2013-10-14T21:15:31","date_gmt":"2013-10-14T21:15:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pjhmail.wordpress.com\/?p=3473"},"modified":"2013-10-14T21:15:31","modified_gmt":"2013-10-14T21:15:31","slug":"looking-where-you-want-to-go","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/3473\/looking-where-you-want-to-go\/","title":{"rendered":"Looking Where You Want to Go"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">John,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">I love it when Jesus uses everyday things to teach us, or remind us, of simple truths about life.\u00a0\u00a0Amy and I went for a bike ride the other evening, and at one point she rode off the sidewalk, and had a little bit of trouble getting back on to the sidewalk.\u00a0Later I shared with her a tip that I learned during my motorcycle riding days about how to avoid obstacles in the road.\u00a0\u00a0I told her that if there is something in the road that you want to avoid, look at a different point in the road, and you will naturally go towards the point you are looking at (instead of the obstacle).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Jesus brought this conversation back to mind last night as I was out walking.\u00a0\u00a0He let me know that it is the same way in life.\u00a0Whatever, or whoever you have your mind on \u2013 whatever you are \u201clooking\u201d at \u2013\u00a0\u00a0is going to affect your actions, whether good or bad.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">This made me think of a couple of scriptures related to that:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">For they that are after the flesh do\u00a0mind\u00a0the\u00a0things\u00a0of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the\u00a0things\u00a0of the Spirit.&#8221; (Rm. 8:5)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Thou wilt keep\u00a0<i>him<\/i>\u00a0in perfect peace,\u00a0<i>whose<\/i>\u00a0mind\u00a0<i>is<\/i>\u00a0stayed\u00a0<i>on thee<\/i>: because he trusteth in thee.&#8221; (Isa. 26:3)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Set your\u00a0affection\u00a0on things above, not on things on the earth.&#8221; (Col. 3:2)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Vince<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">===============<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">I love this Vince!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Reminds me of what the Lord gave me&#8230;&#8221;write your hurts in the sand;
