{"id":395,"date":"2009-06-19T22:03:13","date_gmt":"2009-06-20T02:03:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/Correspondence\/?p=395"},"modified":"2009-06-19T22:03:13","modified_gmt":"2009-06-20T02:03:13","slug":"rev-12-13-earth-and-sea","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/395\/rev-12-13-earth-and-sea\/","title":{"rendered":"Rev. 12, 13: &#8220;earth and sea&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Pastor John<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">In relation to the distinction between earth and sea in places in Revelation (seas = people of the world, and &#8220;earth&#8221; referring to the saints), might there be anything in the fact that Rev. 12:9 says that the devil was cast into the earth?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">=============<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><em>I don&#8217;t think that that phrase refers to the devil being cast into the body of Christ on earth, but to the world as a whole, hence the next verse that you mention:<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">=============<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">When the devil was cast done to the earth, a loud voice in heaven cried (12:12), &#8220;Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and of the sea&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">=============<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><em>Yes, and that is what makes me think that verse 9 refers to the world as a whole.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">=============<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">In verse 17, we are told that the devil &#8220;went&#8221; to make war. Where did he go?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">=============<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><em>Now, THAT is a good question, one that we should all ask an answer for.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">=============<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">The next thing described is the Beast coming out of the sea ( = people of the world) who has the devil&#8217;s power. Then the second beast, the false prophet, comes from the Earth ( = the body of Christ) who speaks like the devil and has two little horns like a lamb.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Just some wonderings I had tonight.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Damien<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">==============<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><em>It&#8217;s good to have our minds on such things.
