{"id":4438,"date":"2014-05-10T18:18:07","date_gmt":"2014-05-10T18:18:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pjhmail.wordpress.com\/?p=4438"},"modified":"2014-05-10T18:18:07","modified_gmt":"2014-05-10T18:18:07","slug":"father-and-son-chapter-8-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/4438\/father-and-son-chapter-8-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Father and Son &#8211; Chapter 8"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"margin:0;\"><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.goingtojesus.com\/text\/books\/fatherandson.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color:#0000ff;font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:medium;\">http:\/\/www.goingtojesus.com\/text\/books\/fatherandson.pdf<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">John,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Suzi and I just finished reading chapter 8 of the Father and Son book.\u00a0 Each time I read this chapter (or any chapter) it\u2019s as if I am reading it for the first time.\u00a0 There are so many wonderful thoughts and feelings that it is hard to take them in all at once.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">I guess the section that describes the humility of the Father is my favorite.\u00a0 The fact that one can be saved without even acknowledging the Father as a person distinct from the Son is incredible.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">The section titled\u00a0<em>Love<\/em>\u00a0also struck me as very tender.\u00a0 The quote from Isaiah 49 and your explanation that follows really touched me:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Isaiah 49: \u201cHe made me a polished arrow; in His quiver, He has hidden me.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">\u00a0<em>When the hidden arrow struck its target, it moved heaven and earth, and the deepest love of God\u2019s heart was poured out on fallen man.\u00a0 As I have said, the central message of the gospel is that God is a Father. And only an unspeakably profound love for us could have moved the father to send his beloved son into this dangerous world to rescue us who knew nothing about Him\u2026<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">There is something about this section that is really special.\u00a0 I love the feeling of it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Thank you for taking the time to re-write this chapter.\u00a0 It is very good.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Tom<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>http:\/\/www.goingtojesus.com\/text\/books\/fatherandson.pdf John, Suzi and I just finished reading chapter 8 of the Father and Son book.\u00a0 Each time I read this chapter (or any chapter) it\u2019s as if I am reading it for the first time.\u00a0 There are so many wonderful thoughts and feelings that it is hard to take them in all at once.
