{"id":4867,"date":"2014-09-30T14:16:15","date_gmt":"2014-09-30T14:16:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pjhmail.wordpress.com\/?p=4867"},"modified":"2014-09-30T14:16:15","modified_gmt":"2014-09-30T14:16:15","slug":"peters-keys-and-having-all-things-common","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/4867\/peters-keys-and-having-all-things-common\/","title":{"rendered":"Peter\u2019s Keys and \u201chaving all things common\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">In our study of Acts, we have read these scriptures:\u200b<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Acts\u00a02:44\u201345: \u201cAnd all that believed were together, and had all things common, and sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Acts\u00a04:32, 34\u201335: \u201cAnd the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.\u00a0 Neither was there any among them that lacked, for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, and laid them down at the apostles&#8217; feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">My Question:\u00a0 Was it common in those times for the treasurer of a rich man\u2019s house to be known as the one with the &#8220;keys&#8221;?\u00a0 If the disciples were still expecting Jesus to establish an earthly kingdom, would they then have thought Peter was to be the Lord\u2019s treasurer, since Jesus told Peter he would be given the keys to his kingdom?
