The tract on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goingtojesus.com\/site\/php\/stirupthegiftofgod.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\">Stir Up The Gift Of God<\/span> <\/a>was wonderful too.\u00a0 I love the part in there where you said that&#8217;s the answer for everything.\u00a0 I had been reading Matthew\u200b and I\u200b am glad we are beginning to read \u200bthrough \u200byour translation.\u00a0 I had a question on 4:1, 5, 8, &amp; 11.\u00a0 There, you used the word &#8220;Accuser&#8221; but in verse 10 you used &#8220;Satan&#8221;, and I was wondering why.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\"><span style=\"line-height:107%;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;font-size:12pt;\">Jr<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height:107%;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;font-size:12pt;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">============<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><span style=\"line-height:107%;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;font-size:12pt;\">Hi Jr.<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><span style=\"line-height:107%;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;font-size:12pt;\">I spent a lot of time \u200bon this, and the\u00a0decision was not easy. \u00a0 Thanks for asking about it. \u200b \u00a0I will give you a brief answer.\u00a0 I hope it will do.\u200b<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><span style=\"line-height:107%;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;font-size:12pt;\">Wherever you see the word &#8220;Accuser&#8221;, the Greek word <\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><span style=\"line-height:107%;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;font-size:12pt;\">diabolos<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><span style=\"line-height:107%;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;font-size:12pt;\"> is in the original text. \u00a0 Wherever you see the word &#8220;Satan&#8221; in my translation, a different Greek word is in the text, the actual name, &#8220;Satan&#8221;.<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><span style=\"line-height:107%;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;font-size:12pt;\">The usual translation of <strong>diabolos<\/strong> is &#8220;Devil&#8221;, but I decided not to go with that because the word &#8220;Devil&#8221; is so full of Christian mythological baggage that &#8220;Devil&#8221; doesn&#8217;t help the Reader understand the evil creature that is being referred to.\u00a0 Satan&#8217;s ancient role in heaven, and now on earth, is &#8220;the Accuser of the brethren&#8221;.\u00a0 So, instead of &#8220;Devil&#8221;, I translated <strong>diabolos<\/strong> as &#8220;Accuser&#8221;.<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><span style=\"line-height:107%;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;font-size:12pt;\">Pastor John<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hey John, I really enjoyed the meetings this weekend.\u00a0 The songs you sang, what sweet feelings.
