Dear Pastor John,<\/span><\/p>\n

Thank Almighty Father for the wonderful of your meeting service of last night, and this has led me to ask some questions as per the reading from the book of Luke 8:49-56:<\/span><\/p>\n

49. While he was still speaking, someone from the synagogue ruler\u2019s house<\/em> came, saying to him, ‘Your daughter has died. Don\u2019t bother the teacher any longer.’<\/span>
\n50. But when Jesus heard it<\/em>, he answered him, saying, ‘Don\u2019t be afraid. Just believe, and she will be healed.’<\/span>
\n51.\u00a0Then, when he went into the house, he allowed no one to enter except Peter, John, and James, and the father and mother of the child.<\/span>
\n 52. And everyone was weeping and beating their breast for her, but he said, ‘Stop crying. She isn\u2019t dead; she\u2019s sleeping.’<\/span>
\n53.\u00a0And they laughed at him, knowing that she was dead.<\/span>
\n 54.\u00a0But after putting them all outside, and when he had taken her hand, he spoke, saying, ‘Child! Rise up!’<\/span>
\n55.\u00a0Then her spirit returned, and she stood up at once. And he ordered that something<\/em> be given her to eat.<\/span>
\n 56.\u00a0And her parents were beside themselves, but he charged them to tell no one what had happened.”<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So my questions are from verse 49,\u00a0While he was still speaking, someone from the synagogue ruler\u2019s house came, saying to him, \u201cYour daughter has died. Don\u2019t bother the teacher any longer.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Does it mean that people from the synagogue ruler’s house knew that the ruler was there expecting a miracle to happen to his daughter but were not believing and even the ruler him self was not believing?<\/span><\/p>\n

Answer:\u00a0 No.\u00a0 I just means that the little girl died, and they did not expect that she would be raised from the dead.\u00a0 What Jesus demonstrated to them all in this story is that his power is not hindered by even death.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

(2) Then when Jesus went, he only allowed Peter, John, and James, and the father and mother of the child to entered the house why?<\/span><\/p>\n

Answer:\u00a0 Because faith works by love, and Jesus knew the parents loved their little girl.\u00a0 And for whatever reason, Jesus wanted Peter, James, and John to see what he was about to do.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

(3) Why did Jesus order people to stop from crying, and what they could do was to laugh at the same time they were busy crying? was there crying mockery?<\/span><\/p>\n

Answer:\u00a0 They probably were hired to come mourn, which was a custom of some cultures in ancient time.\u00a0 That would explain how they could so quickly stop weeping and start laughing at Jesus.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

(4) \u00a0 \u00a0Why did Jesus charged no one to tell what has happened.\u00a0 I mean the miracle of coming back to life again?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Answer:\u00a0 I don\u2019t know.\u00a0 It is impossible for me to understand how people could not know about such a miracle, since many people already knew the girl was dead.\u00a0 Perhaps Jesus just did not want the girl\u2019s parents to make a special effort to advertise the miracle.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

(4) Lastly which kind of spirit return to the daughter in verse 55?<\/span><\/p>\n

Answer:\u00a0 Her own, human spirit.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
