{"id":625,"date":"2009-11-20T16:48:45","date_gmt":"2009-11-20T20:48:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/Correspondence\/?p=625"},"modified":"2009-11-20T16:48:45","modified_gmt":"2009-11-20T20:48:45","slug":"sacrifices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/625\/sacrifices\/","title":{"rendered":"Sacrifices"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\">This sounds like a conversation that was worth having!<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\"><em><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\">Pastor John<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n==========<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Hey!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Talking with Amy tonight about sacrifices it was stirring up the thoughts and feelings from the other night when we went over the sacrifices paper.\u00a0 My mind was going all over thinking about what our sacrifices are now and it made me think of the times that we are overwhelmed with joy, peace, thankfulness, love, etc.\u00a0 We have those feelings most of the times, but there are times that you can be so full of them you can hardly move or do anything but cry.\u00a0 What if that&#8217;s when we&#8217;re making those sacrifices and we get to eat of it with God, like they did in the old testament?\u00a0 Give a thanksgiving offering and when you eat of it with the Father you are so full of thanksgiving that you do nothing but cry and lay out on the floor.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 mmmmmmmmmm. \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 And then when Amy and I were reading the part about the fire being our salt!\u00a0 And what the salt does between His people!\u00a0 Good stuff \ud83d\ude42<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Ashley<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;- Forwarded message &#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Hey,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Ashley and I started talking about the sacrifices and wondered what we could find in the Scriptures about sacrifices in the Spirit.\u00a0 So, this is what we found.\u00a0 There&#8217;s got to be some more&#8230;. \ud83d\ude0e<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Sacrifices of praise (Jer. 17); Sacrifices of joy (Ps. 27); Sacrifices of thanksgiving (Ps. 107); Sacrifices of righteousness and of a broken and contrite heart; (Ps. 51).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Then, in Hebrews 13:15 &amp; 16, we saw that sacrifices please God:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color:#000000;\">&#8220;By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.&#8221;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">And, then we found this about the salt for the sacrifice in the New Testament, which we learned in the Old Testament was offered with every sacrifice, even the drink offering:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Mark 9:49-50:<br \/>\n<em>&#8220;For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.\u00a0 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.&#8221;<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">So, we thought it was interesting that everyone should be salted with fire! \ud83d\ude0e<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Amy and Ashley<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">PS:\u00a0 We did discover that when you mix salt and fire, they make beautiful colors! \ud83d\ude0e<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Ashley and Amy<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This sounds like a conversation that was worth having!
