Hi John,<\/span><\/p>\n

Donna’s email reminded me of a few things…<\/span><\/p>\n

First of all, I loved what you told us about the politics of this world Wednesday night, too.\u00a0 We have that “other option”.\u00a0 It’s to\u00a0be happy with all that we have been blessed with, and leave to God what He is doing.<\/span><\/p>\n

One thing that was so sweet to me, is that I could not identify what was weighing me down several days ago, and the wind blew in on the porch and the Spirit\u00a0lifted that weight for me.\u00a0 It was a real experience.\u00a0\u00a0Wednesday<\/span>\u00a0night you identified the weight.\u00a0 The weights are the things of this world that are not ours.\u00a0 They are heavy.\u00a0 \u00a0And then you and Jesus\u00a0blew some wind on us and refreshed us!\u00a0\u00a0Haha!\u00a0 That was a good\u00a0feeling.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The other thing that Donna said, was something that my Ellen and I were talking about yesterday at the house, and that was, the stubbornness of wanting things “our way.”\u00a0 If we have our minds made up as to what WE want, then\u00a0we will be disappointed and even angry when it doesn’t go that way.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Whether it’s wanting to change someone (so they will be what we want\u00a0them to be), or whether it’s getting angry because something did not work out or move fast enough, or whether it’s wanting\u00a0situations in our lives to be only what we want them to be,\u00a0the\u00a0satisfied\u00a0place is “neutral”.\u00a0 Not my will, but THY will be done.\u00a0 What a\u00a0way of peace.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Last night we watched that movie at your house, “Empire in the Sun”.\u00a0 I had never seen it before.\u00a0 I’m glad you did not ask me what I thought of it at the\u00a0end!\u00a0\u00a0I would have busted out crying, I think.\u00a0 I was almost speechless for hours afterwards.\u00a0 Men’s inhumanity to other men is one of the things in this world I can’t wait to be done with.\u00a0I hate what sin has done to people, but I love the way out…. Jesus!<\/span><\/p>\n

I love the instruction you gave us Wednesday night (8\/17\/16). \u00a0 I love how it sets us free to be thankful and happy.\u00a0 We really can be just who Jesus has made us.\u00a0 I didn’t even realize I was feeling that burden! And the one other thing you said was for us not to be stubborn and have it our own way.\u00a0 That would be very bad.\u00a0Self-will will not lead to happy and thankful and staying hidden \u00a0in Jesus.<\/span><\/p>\n
