Well, I didn\u2019t pay any attention to the election at all yesterday, as I went about my own business.\u00a0 It truly was the furthest thing from my mind.\u00a0 I\u2019d given it over to Jesus.\u00a0 I felt peaceful, detached from the cultural strife, and at peace in Him.\u00a0 Really!\u00a0 Then, after reading your FB post about Jesus being our King, it deepened my trust, and my obliviousness to the whole phenomenon that was unfolding throughout the day.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t stay up and watch the TV.\u00a0I went to bed early.\u00a0I didn\u2019t care. I prayed. I cried. . .and I hoped.<\/span><\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t hope that Trump would be elected.\u00a0 I merely hoped that Hillary Clinton would be defeated.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I awoke this morning to the newspaper on the front porch, and the headline “TRUMP STUNNER\u201d actually felt strangely comforting.\u00a0 As I said, I am not as glad that over half the American people elected Trump, as I am that Clinton was destroyed.\u00a0 An evil person was defeated. \u00a0(Well, at least the greater of two evils was defeated.) \u00a0As boorish and foolish and politically inexperienced as Trump is, I think it would have been far worse if that vile woman would have become president\u2014worse for the nation and worse for\u00a0<\/span>her<\/span><\/i>.\u00a0 I am relieved for us and for her.\u00a0 I think if she had become president her madness would have only accelerated.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Now, having said that\u2026what on earth do we have for a President in this strange character, Donald Trump?<\/span><\/p>\n

As reprehensible as Trump is, I feel there is something inside of him that is sincere, and that God can use.\u00a0 I feel compelled to pray for him, fervently, that God might soften his arrogance and deliver him from his bullyish pride; that God might use him for good, for restoring law and order; for standing up for the right things, for protecting our country against more evil.\u00a0 I pray that God HUMBLES Donald Trump ,so he can be trusted by the American public, perhaps eventually even by those liberals who currently despise him.\u00a0 The criminal, deceitful wicked Clinton did not succeed in taking over this country, and I am thankful for that.\u00a0 I am more thankful for that than I am for Trump being elected.\u00a0 What happens now is anybody\u2019s guess.\u00a0 It might be worse.\u00a0 He might be utterly inept, for all we know; but I feel that, in spite of his immoral and unorthodox manner, there is the potential that he is a better man (in his heart) than Obama, and certainly better than Hillary.\u00a0 Who knows? \u00a0 (God knows what He is doing.)\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

PRAISE GOD!!\u00a0 We can Trust GOD!! \u00a0\u2026in ALL THINGS!\u00a0 Let’s stay hidden in Him.<\/span><\/p>\n

For all his faults, Mr. Trump has the potential to become what future historians will call a great president.\u00a0 Some past presidents have not had that potential, and some who did have it\u00a0never fulfilled their potential.\u00a0 So, the jury is still out.\u00a0 And it will stay out until Mr. Trump’s presidency is over.<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

God help him.\u00a0 That job is far bigger than any man, no matter what his potential is.<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

I woke up this morning and saw your\u00a0midnight\u00a0texts about the possibility of Trump becoming president (when it seemed like his election\u00a0would not be likely)…. I looked online after I got up this morning,\u00a0and saw that Trump had gotten elected (surprise – I really did\u00a0not think Trump could win since all sides were in some way against him.)\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I watched the news for a few minutes, and then I realized:\u00a0 nothing had changed!\u00a0 The people on the news were still bickering, the foolish were still talking and analyzing about nothing, the supporters and detractors were still complaining…. the spirits of none had changed, one way or the other.<\/span><\/p>\n

And then I\u00a0felt the Spirit say:\u00a0 “what’s that\u00a0to me?”\u00a0\u00a0In other\u00a0words,\u00a0an election is\u00a0irrelevant\u00a0to what God wants for\u00a0me<\/u>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ha, that was good.\u00a0 Nothing has changed in me.\u00a0 I’m still praying, I’m still trusting Jesus (alone), I’m still at peace, I’m still filled with the holy Ghost and happy for all that He has done.\u00a0 It’s a good feeling to not be\u00a0caught up in any of that or\u00a0and focus on\u00a0the things that are important to\u00a0Jesus<\/u>.\u00a0 One of them it to pray for ALL who are in authority.\u00a0 Another is obeying and pleasing Jesus, and serving our brothers and sisters everywhere.\u00a0\u00a0 That has not changed for us, regardless of the election, either way.<\/span><\/p>\n

I wondered if God had not given this country another four years, just so men can SEE where\u00a0this nation\u00a0will go with a man who seems to have\u00a0at least “some”\u00a0common sense about some things, and was not afraid to speak up about it.\u00a0 We’ll see if he can stand it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I will be praying for him.\u00a0\u00a0Mr. Trump\u00a0will need it – and I hope he humbly\u00a0falls down on his knees and\u00a0cries out\u00a0to the One who has\u00a0given him any\u00a0sense he does have.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It was a surprise – but God knows.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/span><\/p>\n

I am so thankful that I\u00a0feel the same as I did yesterday, and the day before that, and the year before that.\u00a0 I am so glad that I believe and I know who is in charge of everything in our lives.\u00a0 He is in charge of my house; He is in charge of my job; He is in charge of this country, and the rest of the whole\u00a0world, and beyond.\u00a0 It makes it so easy, and\u00a0all I have to be concerned about is this: Am I doing what He wants me to do?\u00a0 And He will be pleased with whatever He puts in our hands to do if we walk in His ways.
