{"id":8331,"date":"2016-11-11T20:35:31","date_gmt":"2016-11-11T20:35:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pjhmail.wordpress.com\/?p=8331"},"modified":"2016-11-11T20:35:31","modified_gmt":"2016-11-11T20:35:31","slug":"feelings-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/8331\/feelings-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Feelings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Hi Pastor John.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Up early\u2026before\u00a06:00\u2026 stepped outside to feel the cool air\u2026 clear me mind\u2026 pray\u2026 feelings stirring inside me\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">As we&#8217;ve watched many in this nation come unglued with vicious tempers and irrational fears over the past two days; their Facebook posts demonstrating that they are neither\u00a0<em>tolerant<\/em>\u00a0nor\u00a0<em>inclusive<\/em>\u00a0as they boldly demand \u00a0everyone\u00a0<em>must<\/em>\u00a0be, they\u2019re been wailing and pouting and name-calling like little babies.\u00a0 It\u2019s such a shame to see.\u00a0 It is nation of people who simply don\u2019t know God; don\u2019t know the love and the peace of Jesus.\u00a0 If we think back to when Barack Obama was first elected, many, if not most believers were dismayed about his election, yet they (we) endured, and prayed and kept Jesus\u2019 peace in our hearts for comfort and stability.\u00a0 I am thankful for your continual exhortations to remain faithful and keep our eyes on the prize, and not let the situations of the make our hearts faint.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Amidst all the strife that\u2019s unfolding for those who hate and fear President-elect Trump, I felt a curious sense of peace and strength this morning, looking our into the dawn.\u00a0 This might be a good time\u2014the\u00a0<em>best<\/em>\u00a0time&#8212;for believers to reach out and speak the truth more boldly&#8211;with meekness, fear and compassion\u2014to those we meet who are fearful and angry.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">For if my reaction to their anger is not righteous and is retaliatory in nature, then I will fail myself, my Lord, and them.\u00a0 But if I offer them the gospel of hope and peace and love and mercy, maybe the light will touch their hearts and give them hope instead of the despair that they\u2019re currently feeling. I felt that this morning\u2026as I stood in the cool crisp air\u2026that I MUST focus on helping others to heal, to move past their fears and rage, and seek something higher.\u00a0 Of course, they must be encouraged to repent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">How does one present that concept without risking being shouted down for \u201cjudging&#8221; them!?\u00a0 I think it\u2019s a risk we must take\u2026.to help calm the storms, the tempers, the fears of those who do not know God.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">One young lady I had the pleasure of speaking to said she stayed out and got drunk\u00a0on Wednesday\u00a0night with other friends of hers who were wailing about the election, yet she didn\u2019t feel as strongly about it, and wasn\u2019t really into politics. (She expressed she had \u201canxiety\u201d in general, and smoked a lot of \u201cweed&#8221;, so she was more enthusiastic about the [foolish] California proposition that legalized it). \u00a0 When we parted, I said a simple &#8220;God bless you\u201d, and she returned the phrase to me.\u00a0 Then I told her I would pray for her to receive relief from her anxiety, from God, and that He could heal her from her anxiety if she would give Him a chance.\u00a0 And she smiled respectfully, said thanks, then walked away.\u00a0 I hope my boldness and courteousness would at least plant a seed in her heart.\u00a0 That is what I am choosing to do, from now on\u2026speaking about Jesus more often\u2026with gentleness, and continue to live right so as not to bring reproach on Him or on my testimony.\u00a0\u00a0If I avoid getting into the fray by arguing the \u201cissues\u201d, I can perhaps influence people more substantially\u2026.by sharing the gospel of peace.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">I say, let\u2019s not be afraid to speak out more often now, to reduce the intensity of the rage in our communities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Everybody needs Jesus.\u00a0 One person at a time.\u00a0 Pay it forward. \u00a0:^)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Do you agree?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Love,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Brad<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">===========<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><em>Hi Brad.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><em>As Mary told the servants about Jesus at the wedding in Cana of Galilee, &#8220;Whatever he says to you, do it.&#8221;<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><em>Pastor John<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi Pastor John.
