{"id":9186,"date":"2017-04-20T19:06:15","date_gmt":"2017-04-20T19:06:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pjhmail.wordpress.com\/?p=9186"},"modified":"2017-04-20T19:06:15","modified_gmt":"2017-04-20T19:06:15","slug":"your-translation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/9186\/your-translation\/","title":{"rendered":"Your Translation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Pastor John,<\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Surely you are aware that the modern translations of the bible are Satan\u2019s playground; the NIV being the most corrupt of all!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">==========<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><em>It is true that the NIV is a poor translation; at times it is more of a paraphrase verse than a translation. \u00a0I don\u2019t use it.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><em>Did you know that when the Pilgrims fled Europe and came to America, they considered the King James Version a perversion of the scriptures?\u00a0 They only used the Geneva version. Interestingly, in a recent survey, the KJV was found to have followed William Tyndall\u2019s version of the New Testament 92% of the time. \u00a0But some of the churchmen who helped produce the KJV were of the same ilk as the churchmen who hunted Tyndall down and killed him for translating the Bible into English!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">==========<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Why do you quote scripture from other than the KJV?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><em>Sometimes, the Greek is better translated in other versions. \u00a0Here are a couple of examples of places where the KJV got it dead wrong:<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><em>1.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><em>Acts 12:4 KJV<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><em>[4] And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after EASTER to bring him forth to the people.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><em>The word \u201cEaster\u201d is an intentional mistranslation by the KJV. The Greek word is \u201cPassover\u201d, not \u201cEaster\u201d. \u00a0The translators wanted to make it seem that their Christian holiday was already being practiced in the book of Acts.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><em>2.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><em>Acts\u00a019:37\u00a0KJV<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><em>[37] For ye have brought hither these men, which are neither robbers of CHURCHES, nor yet blasphemers of your goddess.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><em>The word \u201cchurches\u201d is an intentional mistranslation by the KJV. The Greek word is \u201ctemples\u201d, not \u201cchurches\u201d. \u00a0 The KJV was trying to protect their church buildings by making it appear that even the mad heathen mob in Ephesus saw church vandalism as a crime.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><em>By the way, the Greek noun for \u201cchurch\u201d is not found in the New Testament books. Every time the word church is found, it should read \u201cassembly\u201d or \u201ccongregation\u201d. One of Tyndall\u2019s \u201ccrimes\u201d in his English translation was that he refused to use the word \u201cchurch\u201d because he knew it had no place in the Bible.\u00a0That is one reason Churchmen hated him so much, and eventually killed him.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><em>There are many more examples, but that shows you where I am coming from.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">==========<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Jesus said in John 10 4-5 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him; for they know not the voice of strangers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Sir, the modern translations are (to me) the voice of strangers! Satan has so twisted the word that we have a new breed of \u201cChristian\u201d coming down the pike! It is he who thinks and believes he can be in the world and partake of the things of the world and still belong to Christ. These are the products of the New Age movement and the New Age churches who teach and preach from corrupt bibles such as the NIV.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><em>Sometimes, newer translations are the product of sincere, dedicated people. \u00a0Only by seeing how faithfully they adhere to the Greek and Hebrew texts can we really know how good or how bad they are. \u00a0Our heavenly Shepherd speaks every language on earth and in heaven. \u00a0He is not restricted to the way humans spoke in England in 1600.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">==========<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">I am amazed quite honestly at the light you have from the scripture, and have had many confirmations from the information contained in your tracts. So for that I an thankful and grateful! \u00a0My beliefs are not mainstream by any means, but then true Holy Ghost filled believers are not mainstream either.<\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-family:Times New Roman;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><em>Being mainstream in the religious system called Christianity is to be far from the will of God.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">==========<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">It\u2019s amazing how many people today who call themselves \u201cChristian\u201d believe that they have received all that God has for them when they \u201cbelieved\u201d and were water baptized. They love the term Holy Spirit because it doesn\u2019t sound as radical and the term \u201cHoly Ghost\u201d And they believe they are Spirit filled simply by believing. If you mention the Holy Ghost to them, \u2026.they\u2019ll say they already have it. If you ask them as Paul did the Ephesians in Acts 19 if they received the Holy Ghost since they believed, \u2026..they\u2019ll say they already have it! They received it when they were saved! Only it\u2019s the Holy SPIRIT now NOT the Holy Ghost. My My Satan is such a deceiver!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><em>Yes, he is.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><em>My father once said that he liked \u201choly ghost\u201d instead of \u201choly spirit\u201d because the word \u201cghost\u201d sounded like it came from somebody. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">==========<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">With that being said, lastly, I\u2019m wondering why you change the word \u201cGhost\u201d to \u201cSpirit\u201d so many times while quoting KJV scripture in your tract \u201cHave Ye Received the Holy Ghost Since \u201cYe\u201d believed?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><em>The KJV translates the Greek word \u201cpneuma\u201d as \u201cghost\u201d sometimes, but at other times, the KJV translates it as \u201cspirit\u201d. Both are correct, even if \u201cghost\u201d is a bit archaic now.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">==========<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">This is a very honest and sincere question, and I honestly am wondering about this in my mind. I am praying for an answer and confirmation.
