{"id":993,"date":"2010-06-21T20:40:14","date_gmt":"2010-06-21T20:40:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pjhmail.wordpress.com\/?p=993"},"modified":"2010-06-21T20:40:14","modified_gmt":"2010-06-21T20:40:14","slug":"peace-and-joy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/993\/peace-and-joy\/","title":{"rendered":"Peace and Joy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"margin:0;\"><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.goingtojesus.com\/text\/books\/fatherandson.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color:#0000ff;font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:medium;\">http:\/\/www.goingtojesus.com\/text\/books\/fatherandson.pdf<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Hi pastor John,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Just had a question from chapter 10 of the Father &amp; Son book.\u00a0 In it, you say that peace and joy are the fruit of obedience to the will of God.\u00a0 And then also, \u201cWith righteousness, the feelings of peace and joy are dependable indicators of the standing of our soul with God.\u201d\u00a0 So conversely, that means if we do not feel peace and joy, that we are not living in obedience to God?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">What about all of the people out there who seem to be happy and content, but are living in sin, and disobeying God (and unable even to blush, in some cases).\u00a0 I can feel the difference between the two because I have experienced both sides of the coin.\u00a0 But I can\u2019t put it into words.\u00a0 What is the difference?\u00a0 Are those feelings that sinners have just false?\u00a0 or a form of joy &amp; peace, rather than the real thing?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Vince<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">=================<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\">Hi Vince:<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\">When I described the role of peace and joy in chapter 10, I was describing how those feelings work in the hearts of people whom God loves; that is, His children.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\">People who feel happy when they have committed sin are those whom God does not love.
